Aguilera family is well known and respected high quality coffee producers in Costa Rica. Each one of the family members has its own role at the farm and takes it seriously, from coffee farming to looking after trees, to working in the mill, where all steps of coffee processing is quality-controlled. Additional employees are only hired seasonally during harvesting. Main coffee variety grown here is Villa Sarchi, a Bourbon mutation. This mutation made coffee trees smaller which means they can grow closer to each other resulting in more trees overall.
In the cup you can expect flower notes and nice, fruity acidity and sweetness. All coffees are processed in mill run by Aguileras, making it possible to quality control each step of the production. This also allows them to experiment with different, new coffee processing and recently they started planting another two varieties; Pacamara and Gesha.
